Lanny Cooper, 65, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Erlanger Health System.
He was employed with Windstream Telecommunications for over 45 years. He served his membership under the Baptist Faith and attended Worship Center at Westside. Lanny was the owner of Julian’s Car Care, coached for local football and basketball teams in the Dalton area, was a member of The Concerned Citizens, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian “Buddy” Cooper and Ollie Mae Kenion Cooper, and sister, Gail Turman.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Eunice Curtis Cooper; daughter, Laura LaNice Cooper; grandchildren, Chai Monae Cooper and Kass Olajuwon Betton; sister, Catherine (Phillip) McPherson; brothers, Bernard (Cheryl) Betton, Renard (Cynthia) Cooper, Terrance Cooper and Derrick (Talitha) Cooper; aunt, Catherine Blackwell; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, Oct. 30 at 3 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Martin Quinonez officiating.
Arrangements are by Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton.
