Star Party Will Be Held Oct. 22 At Cloudland Canyon State Park

  • Wednesday, October 5, 2016

Star Party at Cloudland Canyon State Park, sponsored by the staff and friends of the Park
and conducted by the Barnard Astronomical Society, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 7-10 p.m.

"Come see the wonders of the night sky through our telescopes. The Orionid meteor shower will be at it's peak that night.

"We will also be looking at and identifying the constellations of autumn. As always we will also be observing DSO's (deep sky objects) like star clusters, nebulae and other galaxies like our own Milky Way," officials said.

Observation will take place at the old tennis court area, which is also the beginning of the disco golf course, so follow the Disco Golf signs.

Astronomy programs are free to all. Usual parking fee at the park applies.
