A brother and a sister, ages seven and nine, who were found unconscious at the bottom of a swimming pool in Bradley County on Wednesday afternoon, are still being treated in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Childrens Hospital.

Officials said the family "has asked for privacy as they concentrate on the medical care of the two children."

Bradley County Sheriff Eric Watson stated, "Detectives are still in the early stages of investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the two juveniles, and the investigation is still fluid and on-going. Our office has been in constant contact with the family, and will continue to provide updates as they become available for release. I want to thank the community for your continuous prayers for the family of the juveniles and the first-responders who came to the scene yesterday."

The sheriff's office said emergency personnel were called shortly after 5 p.m. to a home in the 4800 block of Georgetown Road.

Emergency personnel were unable to revive the siblings after pulling them from the outdoor pool.

Both children were initially transported by Bradley County EMS to Tennova Healthcare - Cleveland. Later, one juvenile was transported via Life Force Air Medical and the other via Bradley County EMS to Childrens Hospital.

The students attend Bradley County Schools.

Officials said, "Counselors are being made available.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family."
