Duplex Damaged By Early Morning Fire

Chattanooga firefighters responded to a duplex fire at 6818 Sunalay Lane shortly after 6 a.m. on Thursday.
Battalion Chief Jeff Eldridge said the fire was located in the A side of the duplex. Firefighters with four fire companies made a quick interior attack and managed to contain the fire to the bedroom where it started. The rest of the apartment had significant smoke and water damage.
The B side of the duplex was saved. No injuries were reported.

Chief Eldridge said the fire displaced two adults in the A side. A family of four was expected to return to its apartment on the B side. The loss from the fire is estimated at $50,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
