Chaztus Whaley
Police said the sister of LaRhonda Spence witnessed her being gunned down at a home on 7th Avenue on Nov. 5.
Chaztus Whaley, 20, has confessed to the shooting and been charged with second-degree murder and tampering with evidence, it was stated.
Police responded that evening to reports of a disorder and then gunfire. It was found that Ms. Spence was taken to Erlanger Hospital and went into surgery. However, she could not be saved.
Her sister told police that Ms. Spence was involved in an altercation with her ex-girlfriend, Eurica Leslie. She said after the fight was over between the two that words were exchanged between Ms. Spence and a curly-haired man.
The sister said she saw the man fire three shots with the first one missing. Then Ms. Spence was hit as she sought shelter behind a car.
Police tried to locate Ms. Leslie and Whaley, but found they had gone to Chicago.
Whaley later said he threw away the gun on that trip.
Ms. Leslie first said she fired a gun during the incident, but Whaley later admitted doing the shooting.
Police were told that Whaley's father devised a story they could tell police.
