Local Players Earn Top Region 3-4A Football Awards

Hixson's Murray Offensive Coordinator Of The Year

Three East Hamilton players have won major Region 3-4A football awards  for the 2016 season.

Andrew Sturdivant was selected as the quarterback, Blake Aldridge the receiver and Jake McClure the specialist on the squad selected by region coaches.

Hixson’s Myles Ratliff shared the offensive player of the year honor and Brody Gregory was tapped as an offensive player and Myles Ratliff shared the offensive player of the year award. Hixson’s Gary Murray was selected as the offensive coordinator of the year.

Chattanooga Central’s Michael Mcghee is the top running back and D.J. Baxter the top defensive back.

Region champion Stone Memorial dominated the selections and first- and second-team picks.

Offensive Coordinator of the Year – Gary Murray, Hixson

Defensive Coordinator of the Year – Clarence Holloway, Stone Memorial

Most Valuable Player – Cody Wyllins, Stone Memorial

Offensive Player of the Year – Ethan Pierce, Stone Memorial; Myles Ratliff, Hixson

Defensive Player of the Year – Eli Beard, Sequoyah

Quarterback – Andrew Sturdivant, East Hamilton

Running Back – Michael Mcghee, Chattanooga Central

Receiver – Blake Aldridge, East Hamilton

Offensive Lineman – Brody Gregory, Hixson

Tight End – Jeremiah Baird, Cumberland County

Linebacker – Curtis Tollett, Stone Memorial

Defensive Lineman – Jamie Nichols, Stone Memorial

Defensive Back – D.J. McClure, Chattanooga Central

Specialist – Jake McClure, East Hamilton
