EG Kight Returns To The Tropicana Room Dec. 10

  • Tuesday, November 22, 2016

It’s been a busy couple of years for singer, songwriter, guitar player, and photographer EG Kight, with more accolades, more touring, and a book deal in the works. After recently performing in six states in four weeks, she’s bringing her solo acoustic show back to the Tropicana Room, inside Chattanooga Billiards Club East, on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door.

Review for EG Kight:

Last year found Kight with a Blues Music Awards nomination for Best Traditional Female Artist, and she was named one of the Top 5 Best Blues Artists of 2014. This year Kight was honored with a 2016 Independent Blues Award nomination for Best Female Artist, and she had two of her original songs land on Shaun Murphy’s new release. Shaun is best known as the former lead singer for Little Feat, and she currently tours with Bob Seger.

Known as a true blues vocalist, early on in her career Kight was nicknamed the “Georgia Songbird.” Over the last several years, Kight has had songs on three major TV networks, and recently she placed five songs in a movie that is to be released this year. So it was only fitting that, when the Georgia Tourism Department recently put together a new Explore Georgia Songwriter Series featuring successful songwriters, celebrating the "Year of Georgia Music," they asked Kight to help launch the series.

With more songs to write, more shows to perform, and a book to finish, Kight continues to forge ahead. And she wanted to bring one final show to her fans in Chattanooga, before the end of the year. Her shows are equal parts blues, country, americana, southern rock, jazz, gospel, and funk. And her unique blend of music appeals to the masses, no matter their taste.
