Lee Mason
Lee Luther Mason, 96, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at a local health care facility.
He was born on June 26, 1920, in Etowah, Tn. He had been a resident of Brookdale Assisted Living since March 2015.
Mr. Mason proudly served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge.
He was of the Baptist faith and held a 50-year membership with the Hill City Masonic Lodge. He also held memberships with the Scottish Rite, York Rite, Order of the Eastern Star, VFW Post 4848, as well as the Operating Engineers Local Union 917.
Mr. Mason was preceded in death by his parents, WR and Edna Mason; his wife, Blanche Geneva Mason; brothers, Lewis Mason of Athens, TN and Glen Mason of Alcoa, TN.
Survivors include his sister, Louise Key, of Knoxville; two sons, Robert P. (Rhenda) Mason of Hixson and William L. (Sandra) Mason of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Robby (Jennifer) Mason of Hixson, Lori (Davy) Rose, of Cohutta, GA, and Chris (Terri) Mason, of Dayton, TN; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Roger DeHart officiating.
Interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
