Joe Smith, who recently ran for the District 3 County Commission seat, is among six candidates for the District 3 School Board post.
Also in the running is James S. Watson, who ran for the school board seat two years ago.
Others are Boyd-Buchanan School Director of Operations Michael Kirk, former teacher Ann Morgan, sports announcer Randy Smith and Bradley D. Church, who owns a financial management business.
Tuesday afternoon was the deadline to apply.
The choice will be by the County Commission.
Greg Martin, who is giving up the seat to join the commission, will be among those making the choice.
