Pedestrian Struck On Brainerd Road By School Bus Monday Afternoon

A pedestrian was struck by a school bus on Monday afternoon on Brainerd Road.

Chattanooga Police responded to a pedestrian struck by a Hamilton County school bus at 4900 Brainerd Road.

 

The driver of the school bus was traveling east on 4900 Brainerd Road merging into the left turn lane approaching Moore Road. The driver and witnesses advised the pedestrian crossed in-between stopped vehicles traveling southbound outside the crosswalk. 

 

 The driver advised she tried to swerve left when the pedestrian crossed in front of her. The school bus struck the pedestrian while in the turn lane. The pedestrian's injuries were non-life-threatening and he was transported to a local hospital.

 

 

 There were no children present on the bus at the time of the crash.

 

The driver was Waqueta D. Foster, 29, and the pedestrian's name was withheld, pending his family's notification.
