Juicy J, best known for his part in the rap group Three 6 Mafia or collaboration in Katy Perry’s ‘Dark Horse’, will be opened by a local DJ artist, PPR Panda, at his New Year’s Eve’s show at Track 29.
This show will represent a taste of success for PPR Panda who has dreamed of expressing himself through his music and acting as a voice for those who feel outcasted.

“This kind of music is what once gave me the confidence to be myself and find my talents,” said PPR Panda. “I want to do that for other people by creating music that makes people want to laugh and cry at the same time. I want to make people dance.”

In order for PPR Panda to open for Juicy J, his music had to have been approved by the famous rap star. PPR Panda was picked from a list of several applicants.

The show will take place on Saturday, Dec. 31, at Track 29. Doors will open at 8 p.m. and the show will begin at 9 p.m.

PPR Panda is already preparing his playlist and plans to mix his own music with some of his other DJ friends’ mixes to help support them as well. PPR Panda describes his music as fluffy, dirty beats that anyone can dance to.

PPR Panda is the stage name picked by Ernest Ford, a local student at Chattanooga State Community College. Ernest began his career in high school by working as a DJ for his school’s football team. Once Ernest began college at UTC, he began to DJ at more local parties and has worked his way up the ladder since then. Ernest transferred to Chattanooga State this year after a fire destroyed his family’s home.
