The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a carjacking on Picture Ridge Drive in East Brainerd on Monday, at 4:28 p.m.
Two suspects reportedly confronted the occupants of a 2007 four-door Ford compact car and stole the vehicle at gun point.
Sheriff’s deputies put out a regional broadcast to area law enforcement and a few hours later, HCSO detectives developed a lead that the carjacked vehicle was located at Cloud Springs Lodge on Pine Grove Road in Fort Oglethorpe.
With assistance from the Georgia Highway Patrol, Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, and the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff’s detectives were able to recover the carjacked vehicle and a weapon which matched the description provided by the victim.
Suspects, Sharoon Shafqat Pervez, 25, and Eric Logan Barde, 25, were arrested by Fort Oglethorpe Police personnel.
Pervez and Barde are being held at the Catoosa County Jail pending extradition to Hamilton County to face charges of carjacking and aggravated assault.
