Letter To District 3 From Greg Martin

  • Sunday, November 6, 2016

Dear District 3 Voter,

In this election, every vote will truly matter as District 3 residents will elect a new County Commissioner.  I entered this race because I believe District 3 needs an advocate in county government that not only understands the needs and values of our community but has a record of service and accomplishments inside Hixson

Many Hixson residents already know me and trust me.

As their advocate on public education, I have a record of bringing people together to make improvements in District 3 schoolsThe Aquaponics Program at Hixson High School, a new roof at Loftis Middle School and the new Middle Valley Elementary school were the results of working with others to better our community.  Others know me through my involvement and leadership roles in various civic groups, including the Friends of Hixson, Hixson Kiwanis, Hixson Council of the Chamber of Commerce and the North River Civic Center. I have worked to make Hixson a better community for everyone.

As your County Commissioner, I pledge to:

1. Work closely with Sheriff’s Department and Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department to ensure our First Responders have the tools and resources they need to do their job and return home safe.

2. Fight to prevent a property tax increase by advocating for changes in county government that will make it more accountable and responsive to taxpayer needs.

3. Advocate for a senior tax freeze that will protect our seniors from a property tax increase.

4. Focus on working with School Board and the incoming Superintendent on ways the business community and parents can partner together to improve the quality of education in our public schools.

With your support, we can make a difference in county government. This is why I am asking for your vote and support on November 8th

Warmest Regards,

             Greg Martin
