City Council Approves Beer In Movie Theaters

  • Tuesday, November 8, 2016

The City Council on Tuesday voted to approve beer in movie theaters.

Chip Henderson cast the only no vote.

Absent were Carol Berz and Larry Grohn, who had brought forth the proposal at the request of a theater manager in his district.

Councilman Ken Smith noted that the ordinance was changed so that it mirrors state law, which allows beer in theaters.

For that reason, there will need to be a second reading next Tuesday.

It had already passed the council once, but it was in a different form.
