A Chattanooga-based heroin dealer has been sentenced to serve 46 months in federal prison. His live-in girlfriend got two years.

Timothy Szostek, 31, and Ashley Underwood appeared before Federal Judge Sandy Mattice.

Authorities made several controlled heroin buys from Szostek after a wide-spread probe started in 2015.

Agents said Ms. Underwood, who has two young children, in early November 2015 admitted that she and Szostek had been selling heroin since April.

She said she went with Szostek 15-20 times to Atlanta to purchase heroin and made "drops" of the drug to customers. She said she helped package the drug and count the money.

The heroin was sold for $100 to $130 per gram. They would get 40 to 50 grams each time they went to Atlanta.
