It will be a five-person race for mayor of Chattanooga.
Gail M. Francis, a former staff member at Tennessee Temple University, qualified near the deadline. The Sweetbriar Avenue resident was in sign language and physical education at Temple. Former City Councilman and city official David Crockett will be on the ballot. He joins the field of Mayor Andy Berke, City Councilman Larry Grohn and businessman Chris Long.
The qualifying deadline was Thursday at noon.
Susan Miller, incumbent Chip Henderson and Jay Nevans are running in District 1.
Mickey McCamish qualified to run against Jerry Mitchell in District 2.
Incumbent Ken Smith will have no opposition in District 3.
Darrin Ledford is the only contender in District 4 - the seat being vacated by Councilman Grohn.
Jeffery Evans has qualified to run against incumbent Russell Gilbert. Cynthia Stanley-Cash also will be on the ballot in District 5.
In District 6, incumbent Carol Berz is unopposed.
Candidates in District 7 are Erskine Oglesby, former Councilman Manny Rico and incumbent Chris Anderson.
Anthony Byrd and Tom kunesh are running in District 8, where Moses Freeman is seeking a new term.
Four qualified in District 9, including incumbent Yusuf Hakeem, Pat Benson Jr., Demetrus Coonrod and John Kerns.
