Associates at Life Care Center of Red Bank were recognized on Nov. 18 for 2016 Nursing Home Caregiver Appreciation Day.
Tennessee designated the day to honor nursing home workers across the state, and Life Care Center of Red Bank used the opportunity to host a reception for associates and present its own Caregiver of the Year Award.
“It takes dedication and compassion to work in a skilled nursing facility,” said Sherry Broom, executive director. “This year’s theme was ‘Caregiving Heroes,’ and our associates are truly heroes. They make a real difference in our residents’ lives every single day.”
The Caregiver of the Year for 2016 was Ana Lina Jumamil, who has worked as a nurse at the skilled nursing and rehab center for more than six years. She was praised for her excellent clinical skills, supervisory skills and attention to detail.
“Ana Lina goes out of her way to provide special individualized care to her patients,” said Broom. “She comes to the facility on her time off to provide individual residents with special loving attention for events such as birthdays. She is focused and driven to succeed. She is a positive influence on those around her.”
More than 30,000 men and women provide care for elderly and/or disabled patients in Tennessee’s nursing homes. From nurses and social workers to cooks and housekeepers, nursing home employees work together to ensure that each resident receives the highest quality of care possible.
