Dynamic Church To Hold 5th Annual "Love Gives Wheels" Holiday Bike Drive

  • Friday, December 2, 2016

Dynamic Church will hold its fifth annual “Love Gives Wheels” holiday bike drive. The 36-hour event will be hosted at Walmart, 2020 Gunbarrel Road, from 6 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.

The bikes will be given to economically disadvantaged children in the Chattanooga area as part of the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.  Dynamic Church has set a goal of raising 500 bikes during the event.

“Anyone that’s ever gotten a bike on Christmas morning can remember the pure happiness and joy it brought them to ride it, like they were the king or queen of the neighborhood,” said Wesley Odum, pastor of Dynamic Church.  “Being able to give that joy to these children during the holidays is part of the heartbeat of Dynamic Church as we seek to make a difference in this community by sharing God’s love and to partner with organizations like the Salvation Army that want to do the same.”

Throughout the event, church staff will remain atop a 40-foot lift to help raise awareness.  Volunteers will be also be located at each entrance with information and at a tent directly in front of the store accepting bikes, as well as monetary donations.

The purchasing price of a bike is $50 dollars.  Those who wish to donate can purchase a bike inside Walmart or contribute any monetary amount to designated church volunteers.  Donations will also be accepted online at www.lovegiveswheels.com.

“Love Gives Wheels” is part of Dynamic Church’s “Serve the City” ministry.  The church partners with various organizations throughout Chattanooga such as the Hamilton Family YMCA, Salvation Army, Bess T. Shepherd Elementary School, and the Nehemiah Project.  Other events include collecting canned goods at the annual Easter egg hunt and delivering backpacks full of school supplies to students at the beginning of the school year.
