The Marcus King Band has premiered the song "Self-Hatred" from The Marcus King Band, their 2nd full-length LP and first for Fantasy Records. The track features a key mentor and supporter of King’s, legendary guitarist Derek Trucks.
Songwriter. Guitarist. Singer. Bandleader. At only 20 years of age, Marcus King’s dazzling musical ability is on full display throughout The Marcus King Band. The album was produced by one of King's long time heroes Warren Haynes, who expertly wraps the band's muscular live energy around a rising young songwriter of unusual clarity and depth.
The new record was produced by Warren Haynes (Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule) and features performances by Haynes and his Allman Brothers Band counterpart Derek Trucks (Tedeschi Trucks Band). The record debuted at #2 on the Billboard Blues Charts, #4 Heatseeker, #42 Top Current Rock and #101 Top 200 Sales and is about to reach the top 30 on the Triple A charts having scored some of the bigger stations like WXRT, WRLT, WXPN, etc.
The new single, "Ain't Nothing Wrong With That," is already picking up steam on the ready having been featured on NPR's World Cafe and WXPN naming the band their Artist To Watch.
