Cynthia Jayne “Cindy” Purdy, 57, of Chatsworth, Georgia, died on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at her home.
Cindy was born December 7, 1959 in Detroit, MI, to the late R. L. and Joyce Hough Terry; and was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bobby” Terry; and a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and K.D. Hearn.
Cindy was a free spirit and hard worker. She loved life and always found the good in everyone. She would give you her last penny and often would borrow just to give to others. One of the great joys in her life was coaching baseball, especially her son, Adam’s team.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Rebecca Terry of Rocky Face, GA; daughter, Amanda Purdy Silvers of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Dallin, Haylee and Ryker Terry, and Shay Silvers; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda and Donald Codrick of Deltona, FL, Nancy and Grant Etheridge of Chatsworth, GA, Kathy and Charles Robinette of Dalton, GA, Judy and Larry O’Dell, Sara and John Gibson all of Chatsworth, GA, Susie and Mike Wilson of Calhoun, GA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Cynthia Jayne “Cindy” Purdy will be held Friday, December 30, at 3 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Grant Etheridge officiating. She will be laid to rest with her family at Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens in Chatsworth, with Adam Terry, Keith Robinette, Brent Gibson, Dallin Terry, Will Brooks, Ronnie Terry and Brett O’Dell serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from noon Friday until the service hour.
