Registered Nurse At Erlanger Hospital For Many Years

Mildred G. Hylen Nixon, 94, of Hixson, passed away on December 28, 2016.

She was born in England and came to the United States as a war bride. Mildred was a registered nurse at Erlanger for over 30 years and was an active member of the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church congregation.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Otto Hylen and Hugh Nixon; sons, Philip Hylen and Wade Andrew Hylen.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann (Aygen) Dogar of West Lafayette, Indiana; grandchildren, Rana Foroohar of New York City, Dawn Lyons of Charlotte, N.C., Sean Dogar of Phoenix, Az. and Philip Hylen, Jr. of Winchester, Tn., and three great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 2 p.m. at the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 7514 Hixson Pike, Hixson, Tn. 37343.

Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
