Juanita Starling Weddle Mezo, 87, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, November 25, 2016. 

She was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church for many decades and later became a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church.  Ms. Mezo was retired from the Hamilton County Health Department, where she served as director of Health, Promotion and Wellness.  She earned her B.S. degree from Southern Missionary College and her M.S. degree from Loma Linda University in California. She was an active member of the American Nurses Association, the Tennessee Nursing Association, Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society for Nursing, and The Pilot Club.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Myra Jean Weddle.

Survivors include her two sons, Harry L. Weddle, III of Nashville and Christopher A. Weddle of Chattanooga; two grandsons, Joshua A. Weddle of Pembroke Pines, FL, and Spencer D. Weddle of Chattanooga.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, at Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.

Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Chapel, 404 South Moore Road was in charge of arrangements.
