Jack Dempsey “Jackie” Quarles, Jr., 70, of Rossville, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016.
Mr. Quarles was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, having served two tours in Vietnam receiving numerous commendations. While serving in the United States military, Mr. Quarles was a mechanic and as a civilian he was a sheet metal worker in the heat and air industry. He worked for Callahan Heat and Air and Modern Heat and Air. His passions in life were his family and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Dempsey Quarles, Sr. and Imogene Quarles.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Quarles; sons, Jack D. Quarles, III and his wife Carol Ann, and Chris Spencer and his wife Andrea; step-son, Michael Sherrell; two sisters, Teresa Simmons and her husband Mike, and Linda Custer; three grandchildren, Jacob, Logan, and Noah Spencer; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Tony Swafford officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Marine Corps.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
