U.S. Xpress, a transportation company in Chattanooga, adopted 215 angels this holiday season and is delivered all of the toys to 5000 Calhoun Ave. Monday morning.
Through The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program, necessities and Christmas gifts are provided for disadvantaged children from infants to age 12 and for senior citizens who are 60 years and older. The Salvation Army of Greater Chattanooga offers holiday assistance to provide necessities and joy to many children, seniors and families in Hamilton, Bradley and Marion counties in Tennessee and Catoosa, Dade and Walker counties in Georgia.
Because of the generosity of community members and corporations like U.S. Xpress, 4,700 angels in the Chattanooga and Cleveland areas will wake up to presents under the tree on Christmas morning.
“The Salvation Army is grateful for corporate partners, like U.S. Xpress, who have adopted more than 2,300 angels this Christmas season,” said Director of Marketing and Development Kimberly George. “Because of these corporations, we met our goal on time for adoptions this year.”
