David Cox, 70, of Athens, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Starr Regional Medical Center in Etowah.
Born on Aug. 31, 1946 in Greencastle, IN to the late Leslie and Julia Jean Taylor Cox, he had lived the past 10 years in McMinn County. David was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, and AmVets. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles back in Indiana.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Linda Henson Cox of Athens; daughter, Julia Jean Kuntz of Crawfordville , Indiana; and brothers, Thomas Allen Van Scyoc of Brownsburg, IN, Bill Van Scyoc of Indianapolis, IN and Gary Wayne Van Scyoc of Temple, TX.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
