Former City Councilman and city official David Crockett has picked up qualifying papers and announced that he will run.
Susan Miller qualified for the District 1 seat held by Chip Henderson, who has announced but not qualified. Jay Nevans has also picked up papers.
No one has yet qualified to run against Jerry Mitchell in District 2. Mickey McCamish picked up papers earlier.

Erskine Oglesby and former Councilman Manny Rico have qualified in District 7. Montrell Besley has picked up. Chris Anderson, incumbent, has announced, but not yet qualified.
Anthony Byrd has qualified to run against incumbent Moses Freeman in District 8. Picking up papers were Patrick "Uncle Cornflake" Kellogg and Tom kunesh.
Four have qualified in District 9, including incumbent Yusuf Hakeem, Pat Benson Jr., Demetrus Coonrod and John Kerns. J.T. McDaniel and Shelby Patton picked up papers.
