Harris, Marilyn (Jasper)

Marilyn Harris, 80, of Jasper, Tennessee, died Saturday, December 3, 2016.

 

A lifelong resident of Jasper, she was the daughter of the late John Herbert Harris, Sr. and Willie Clyde Vann Harris. She graduated from Marion County High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed travelling and spending time with her family and her many friends at Alexian Grove and Lookout Valley.

 

She is survived by two sons, Adam (Cheryl) Quirk of Frederick, MD and Colin Quirk of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Ryan Barnette Quirk and Avery Vann Quirk; and brother, Dr. Dennis (Martha) Harris of Signal Mountain, TN.

 

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Eastern time (noon Central) on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Wauhatchie United Methodist Church, 3401 Cummings Hwy, Chattanooga, TN. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper at 3 p.m. Eastern time (2 p.m. Central) on Wednesday.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wauhatchie United Methodist Church, 3401 Cummings Hwy, Chattanooga, TN 37419.
