Police have arrested Prandell Antonio Haynes in connection with an Oct. 13 shooting in which a man was shot in the face.

Haynes, 26, of 413 Friar Road, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, three counts of aggravated assault, unlawfully carrying a weapon, and reckless endangerment.

Police said Haynes and Marquel Morris fired up to 20 shots in the incident at Sandy's Mini Market on Glass Street in East Chattanooga.

Officers arriving at the scene of the early-afternoon incident found Thomas Williams Jr. injured.

A woman and her daughter were in the same vehicle, but were not hit in the hail of bullets.

The woman said upon arriving at Sandy's, she saw a light blue Toyota Camry pull up with Haynes and Morris inside. She said she knew them because she had previously hung out with them.

She said Haynes had stolen a gun from her and was angry that she prosecuted him for it.

The woman said she tried to leave, but Haynes and Morris ran behind the store and drew their pistols. She said both men began firing as they tried to leave.

She picked both Haynes and Morris out of photo lineups.

Both have extensive criminal records.
