For the first time in over three decades Soddy Daisy will not have a Christmas parade this year.
Janice Cagle, city manager, said there were 77 entrants lined up for the much-anticipated event.
However, the parade was a casualty of the weather.
It was originally set for last Sunday, but there was heavy rain that day.
The rain date was this coming Sunday.
City Manager Cagle said it is due to be extremely cold this weekend, and she said as of Wednesday the forecast was for a 60 to 80 percent rain chance.
"We had to make a decision by Wednesday because of all the school groups and others involved, so we decided to cancel for this year," she said.
She said a number of car groups were to be in the parade, "but they won't bring their cars out in bad weather and you can understand that."
