Dorothy Louise “Momma Dot” Sutton, 87, of Soddy Daisy, died on Friday, December 9, 2016.

She was born on Jan. 12, 1929, in Trezevant, Tn., daughter of the late John Jefferson and Izzie White. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis D. Sutton; sons, Danny Sutton and Mike Sutton; siblings, John White, Mary Lee White Smith, J.L. White, Autus Langley, Robert Langley, and Rosa Lee Langley Matlock.

Mrs. Sutton loved gardening, especially flowers. She enjoyed her fishpond and bird watching. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life.  She was retired after 30 plus years of service from the Hamilton County Board of Education, where she was the director of transportation.

Survivors include her children, Nancy (Tim) Blanks, Susan (Leonard) Vaughn, and Steve (Cherie) Sutton; brother, Bill (Alice) White; daughter-in-law, Donna Sutton; sister-in-law, Dean White; grandchildren, Michael (Becky) Sutton, Jason (Julie) Sutton, Jeffery (April) Vaughn, Amber Vaughn, Morgan Sutton, and Brittany King Hood; eleven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation or funeral services at this time.
