Bonita Carter
Bonita Delois Carter, 51, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, December 9, 2016 in a local hospital.
She was a 1983 graduate of Kirkman Technical High School where she participated in chorus and track. She was a member of Community Fellowship Church and employed with the Hamilton County Nursing Home and Erlanger Health System. She was well-known in the community.
Bonita was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gladys Mae Mays, Laura Mae Collier, and John Thomas Walker; sister, Tina Smith; and husband, Edward Carter.
Survivors include her children, LaBrecia Baylor (Octavius Careathers) and Christopher Baylor; bonus children, Antonio Baylor, Ciara Baylor, Lia Baylor, and Jasmyne Baylor; grandson, Braylen Careathers; mother, Lora Jean (Sylvester) Ammons; father, Charlie W. (Cindy) Walker, Sr.; sister, Barbara (Odderic) Ford; brother, Charlie (Yolanda) Walker, Jr.; special friend, Stanley Cox; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She will lie in state on Friday, Dec. 16, after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 3 p.m. in the chapel with Minister Charlie Walker, Jr., as the eulogist.
Burial will be on Monday, Dec. 19, at 10 a.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
