Cress Gallery/UTC Exhibition Opening Reception Rescheduled To Thursday

Cress Gallery of Art, University of Tennessee Chattanooga announces their Spring exhibitions.

Visiting artist Diane Marek will hold events from Feb. 8-12, in conjunction with Amy Elkins' exhibition “Black is the Day, Black is the Night,” which will be held Feb. 9 through March 24.

The Artist’s Public Lecture, originally scheduled for Tuesday, has been moved to Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Derthick Hall, Room 101, 624 Vine St., followed by a public reception in the lobby of the Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine Street.

This exhibition and all Ms.
Marek Series events are open to the public. Admission is free. Gallery hours are 9:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1-4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Ms. Elkins' exhibition is made possible through the support of the Friends of the Gallery.

The Cress is located in the lobby of the UTC Fine Arts Center, 752 Vine St., at the corner of Vine and Palmetto Streets.

After 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends, visitors to the Cress may park free in any nearby lot not marked “24 hour reserved.” Before 5 p.m. on weekdays, visitors may find nearby street parking or park in the 5th Street Garage and stroll across campus to Vine St. or ride the circulating campus Carta shuttle from the 5th Street stop to the Vine and Palmetto stop.
