Garland Harold Crisp, 86, of Dayton, Tennessee, died Monday evening, February 8, 2016 at home.
Harold was born in Spring City Jan. 31, 1930 to the late Garland and Josie (Robinson) Crisp; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine “Jerry” (Edgar) Crisp; his son, Steve Crisp; daughter, Jody Pilcher; and two sisters, Maxine Turner and Jo Lapham.
Harold was a resident of Dayton for the past 41 years. He was the owner of Crisp and Sons Battery Company. He also was the founder and pastor of Blessed Hope Baptist Church for 37 years. He was a member of Bogles Chapel Baptist Church. He loved selling produce at the courthouse after he retired.
He is survived by two sons, David (Annette) Crisp of Dayton and Jeremy (Shelia) Crisp of Dayton; and 11 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home Wednesday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. officiated by Pastor Aaron Revis, Brother Jeff Parrott and Dr. James Jones. He will be laid to rest in the Spring City Cemetery.
The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home.
