Temporary Nighttime Closures To Occur On MLK Boulevard

To continue work on the current phase of the U.S. 27 reconstruction project, Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will be performing nighttime bridge demolition on the bridge over Martin Luther King Blvd. in Chattanooga.  For the protection of the traveling public, MLK Boulevard underneath the bridge and the ramps in the area will be closed to traffic during the work.

The eastbound closure of MLK Blvd.

will occur on Thursday evening, and again on Monday evening, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning. The westbound closure of MLK Blvd. will occur on Tuesday evening, and again on Wednesday evening, Feb. 17, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning.

THP will assist with traffic control during this work.  Detours for alternate routes will be posted.
