Anne Hardwick McGhee, 62, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her home, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born April 4, 1953 to the late Frances Corn Nankivell and William Trewhitt McGhee. Anne was a lifetime resident of Cleveland and was very fortunate to grow up on the same town with both sets of grandparents and most of her relatives. She Attended western Kentucky University and graduated with a degree in Special Education. Anne then returned to Cleveland and taught in Bradley County as well as Dalton, GA. She loved teaching adults and children with special needs. Her kindness for her students was a true gift. Anne loved her family, friends, pets and the great outdoors.
In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her step-father, James Nankivell; and her grandparents.
Anne is survived by her husband, Mitchell Guinn; daughter, Emily (Dane) Deaton; grandsons, Baker, Jackson and Nathan Deaton; brother, Will (Cindy) McGhee; and sister, Missy (Tony) Benear.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice or the Epilepsy Foundation.
A Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held at The Barn at Fillauer Lake on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 1-4 p.m.
