Get Involved In Chattanooga 2.0

  • Wednesday, February 10, 2016

Over a decade ago, I camped out in the parking lot of the Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences to ensure my 4-year-old daughter could get a good education. Growing up in Brainerd, I had seen a lot of changes and I wanted something better for her. Now my daughter is a junior in high school at CSAS and making plans for her college career, because her teachers, her mom and I made her education a priority.

Not everyone in Chattanooga has that same opportunity. I hope more of our young people and their parents will take the time to read the Chattanooga 2.0 report. There are sobering statistics in it about the current state of our education system, but also lots of opportunities for our parents, our schools and our business leaders to join forces to make improvements that will impact all our kids.

Please read the report and get involved. You may regret it if you don’t.
