Ira Stone
Ira James Stone, 64, died on January 31, 2016 at his residence.
He graduated from Howard High School in 1971.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Stone and Shirley Calloway; brothers, Lewis Stone and Vernoral Stone; sister, Pearlie Mae Readus.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Stone; sons, JerMichael Brydie and Adrian Kimbrough; sisters, Geogia Calloway, Diane (Jesse) Herman, and Linda Stone; brothers, Charles (Darlene) Calloway, Joe Readus, and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Olivet Baptist Church with Minister Donnell Ellison as eulogist, and Bishop Kevin L. Adams officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The body will lie in state from noon until 8:30 pm today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Avenue, 622-9995.
