James "Fred" McDaniel, died on February 11, 2016, surrounded by his children.

Fred was predeceased by his parents, James and Mary McDaniel, sister, Judy Dill, and a brother, Eddy McDaniel.

Fred McDaniel married Sidna Davis on December 4, 1960.  They were married for 45 years.

Fred retired from Southern Railroad, was a member of IBEW and a respected Sunday School teacher.

Fred was a proud brother to Robert (Bud) McDaniel; father of Kim McNabb (Glen), Melody McDaniel, Teresa Thornbury (Tim), Jeffrey McDaniel (Shalimar); grandfather of Courtney Helton (Gerald), Ryan Denton, Stacie Wolfford, James McDaniel, Zachary Massengale, Austin McNabb, Tiffany McDaniel, Kelsey Massengale, Michael Bardas; great-grandfather of Brooklyn and Addison Wolfford, Connor Helton.

James Fred McDaniel was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. 

A private family service will be conducted.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fred’s name to: Area 4 Special Olympics,250 Layne Rd., Soddy Daisy, TN 37379.

Arrangements have been entrusted in Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.
