Judy Epperson
Opal (Judy) Epperson, 92, of East Brainerd, died on Friday, February 12, 2016.
A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. Epperson was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church and a former member for 45 years at Spring Creek Road Baptist Church where she had served as a Sunday school teacher. She attended and supported the Widow Women’s Living for Jesus, was a member of the WMU, the Christian Women’s Club and the Harris Hills Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther (Pete) Epperson; parents, Sydney and Janie Ensley; sisters, Beulah Waters, Bonnie Robertson, Francis Ensley, Hazel Ensley; brothers, Winfred Ensley, Otis (Shorty) Ensley, Bert Ensley, Jack Ensley and Edward Ensley.
Survivors are her daughters, Sherry (Mike) Sims, Shelbyville, TN, Cyndy (Jimmy) Herrod and Robin Hamid both of Chattanooga; brothers, Bill (Lois) Ensley, Elyria, OH; grandchildren, Blake and Beth Sims, Allyson (James) Abbott, Hannah and Luke Herrod, Mimi, Zack (Rebecca), Noah, Malik, Dean, Kimberly, Omar and Hunter Hamid and Candace Litherland; great-grandchildren, Cole, Raine, Storm and Rivers Sims, Hayden Herrod, Keaton, Ansley and Cohen Hamid, Trenton Morris, Brooklyn, Kali and Liberty Coulter; ad several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Feb. 14, at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Tony Walliser and Reverend Jack Rinks officiating. Mike Sims will delivery the eulogy.
Burial will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East with her grandson serving as pallbearers.
