The Southern Crescent Tech Tigers jumped out to a 21-2 lead on Friday night and coasted to a 102-70 win over the Georgia Northwestern Bobcats in a Region 17 game in Griffin.
The Bobcats (11-14) shot just 38 percent for the game and managed to connect on just 4 of 23 shots (17 percent) from behind the 3-point arc.
Southern Crescent finished the game at a 51 percent clip from the floor, while Dantavius Bega led the Tigers with 31 points.
Tyler Shropshire had 16 points to pace Georgia Northwestern, followed by Darrius Fugh with 14 points and nine rebounds and Andrew Johnson with 11 points and six rebounds. Dominic Powell (nine points, three assists) and Ricky Cardoza (nine points, six rebounds) also had solid games for the Bobcats.
Georgia Northwestern is slated to close out the regular season on Monday night at LaGrange College, weather permitting.
The GCAA Region 17 tournament will begin next Saturday, Feb. 20, at Emory-Oxford College in Covington.
