Martha Bell
Martha Kathryn Price Bell, a native of Rockmart, Georgia, born August 31, 1926, died peacefully on February 12, 2016 at the age of 89.
Martha was a former resident of Chattanooga, a graduate of Central High School, and a histological technician at Erlanger Hospital for 33 years. She was a faithful Christian, last attending Hendersonville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bell; parents, Hugh A. Price and Swaney Cagle Price; sisters, Frances Brockett and Sara Fricks; daughter, Margaret A. Claypool; and granddaughter, Michelle Diane Barbree.
She is survived by two daughters, Jody (Jack) Welch, of Hendersonville, TN, Libby (James) Delk, of Whitwell; son, Sam (Joy) Bell of Caryville, Tn.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Casey of Flat Rock, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the funeral home with Minister Daryel Haynes officiating.
Burial will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The apostle Paul wrote in II Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
