Lola McDaniel
Lola “Mamaw” Margie Etherton McDaniel, 85, of Hixson, died on Thursday, February 12, 2016.
She was a member of Unity Baptist Church. She was a home-maker that served her community for 53 years with an in-home ironing service. She was a faithful, loving, gentle and kind mother, sister, grandmother, great-great- grandmother that will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, quilting, and telling jokes to make others laugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Rachel Etherton, 10 brothers and sisters, her husband Vinus “Joe Joe” McDaniel, her daughter, Barbara Headrick, and grandson, Adam McDaniel.
Survivors include her sister, Vernie Edwards of Spring City, son, Lamar McDaniel, daughters, Judy Pitt, and Carolyn Sue Rogers (Robert) and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday, Feb. 15, at 12 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with her grandson Ray Price and Reverend Jay Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Dunn Cemetery.
Visitation is on Sunday, Feb. 14, from 2-8 p.m. and Monday, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
