Thomas “Gene” Branum, 87, of Rossville, Ga, died Saturday, February 13, 2016 in a local healthcare facility.

He was retired from the Chattanooga Housing Authority, was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and was of the Church of God faith.  He loved motorcycles and his legacy will be his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Allie Mae Branum, and sisters, Louise Holloway and Ruth Holman.

Mr. Branum is survived by his wife of 67 years, Opal Branum, daughters, Tonya Branum (Glenn) Anderson, Sherry Branum (John) Parker and Lugena Branum Plemmons, eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren and one niece.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 16, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 15,  from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
