An 18-wheeler wrecked on the Ridge Cut early Tuesday morning, shutting down the westbound lanes of I-24 for hours.
Around 2:07 a.m., the tractor-trailer lost control and landed on its side blocking all lanes westbound.
Traffic was still shut down after 6 a.m. due to the wreck.
The driver experienced slight injuries, he has been released from the hospital. No other cars were damaged and there were no other injuries to report.
The Chattanooga Police Department and wreckers were working as fast as possible to clear the 18-wheeler from the scene. Westbound lanes were expected to be cleared by 7:15 a.m. or sooner.
DETOURS: Germantown Rd exit is closed. Drivers going West Bound should take Belvoir or 153 Hwy to Amnicola.
DELAYS: Expect additional delays due to heavy traffic at the Brainerd Tunnels and Hwy 153/Amnicola.
