Lawson, T.L. "Dugan" (New Hope)

T. L. “Dugan” Lawson, 91, of New Hope, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at his home.

The son of the late Talmadge Frank and Alice Gray Lawson, he was of the Baptist faith.  He was retired from TVA, having worked on construction projects at Nickajack Dam and Raccoon Mountain.  He worked in constructions most of his life, having worked to help bring the first telephone lines across Ladd’s Mountain and during the construction of the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Building in Chattanooga.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie Ruth Lawson; sons, Paul Douglas (Carolyn) Lawson and Talmadge Michael “Mike” Lawson; daughter, Rhonda Lawson all of New Hope; grandchildren, Charles Douglas Lawson and Shayna Michelle Clepper; brothers, Charles (Peggy) Lawson of New Hope and Myrtle Moors of Georgia; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, Feb. 4. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, Feb. 3, from 5-8 p.m. Central Time at the funeral home.
