Police Blotter: Man Who "Does The Right Thing" By Woman At Motel 6 Is Now Looking For Car

A man who said he was "just trying to do the right thing" by taking a woman to Motel 6 on Lee Highway wound up missing his car.

Andrew Sheets said he picked up Haleigh Paige. He said he did not know her, but a friend did.

He said Ms. Paige asked if she could use his car to take a friend to Rossville. He told her no and went to sleep.

He said when he woke up about three hours later, Ms. Paige was gone and so was his black 2004 Honda Civic EX.

Preston Wayne Parris said someone stole some very heavy scaffolding off his truck parked at his residence on School Drive.

It happened overnight.

The scaffolding had been chained to a rack on the truck.

A 16-foot board weighed about 500 pounds. It had the name Parris painted on it.

A 12-foot board weighed about 225 pounds.

Ryan Beckner said he visited a friend at the Signal Mountain Apartments on Runyan Drive around 2 a.m.

While doing so, he may have left his car keys in the vehicle.

His black 2003 BMW was reported stolen.

Renee Belvin said she lost her Apple IPhone at the Subway at the Brainerd Walmart.

It was left unattended near the fountain drink dispenser.

A video showed a white male, age 38-45 - swiping the phone. A photo was captured of the thief.

A female employee of Beeler Impression Products on McCallie Avenue said she forgot to lock her vehicle while at work.

Someone stole her husband's LCP 380 semi-automatic handgun that was fully loaded.

A woman said her heating and air system was stolen. When she had another unit installed, she put a phone with a GPS in it.

Sure enough, someone stole the replacement HVAC.

The GPS said the culprit was at a location on E. 20th Street.

The woman spotted the unit inside a vehicle at that address. She retrieved her cell phone and dialed police.

However, by the time officers arrived, the vehicle and her unit were gone.
