Shots Fired At Vehicle In Brainerd, Causing Multiple-Vehicle Wreck

Chattanooga Police responded on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. to the 5200 block of Brainerd Road on the report of a multi-car motor vehicle crash. 

 The motor-vehicle crash involved seven vehicles. The vehicle primarily responsible for the accident, an SUV, exhibited significant damage from gunfire. 

 The primary contributing factor to the crash is the fact that the occupants of the SUV were being shot at by an unknown assailant. Several people involved in the crash were transported to local hospitals for treatment.  No injuries were designated as severe or life threatening. None of the sustained injuries was the result of gunfire. 

 Chattanooga Police Violent Crime Investigators are following all leads at this time. There is no suspect information available at this time. 

 Chattanooga Police ask anyone with information regarding this crime to call 423 698-2525. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
