Snow is in the Chattanooga area forecast for Monday.
A cold front will sweep across the Tennessee Valley and Southern Appalachians Monday morning, bringing with it a mixture of rain and snow as the cold air moves into the area. The precipitation will change to all snow during the afternoon with snow showers or flurries continuing through Wednesday.
There is still a good deal of uncertainty of the strength of this system but accumulating snows are possible, especially across the higher elevations.
Besides the snow, much colder temperatures are expected early next week. Highs Monday will be early in the day, then fall during the afternoon. Highs Tuesday and Wednesday will range from the upper 20s north to the middle and upper 30s south with lows in the teens and 20s.
