Joan Marie White, 57, of Dalton, Georgia, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at her residence.

Joan was born March 4, 1958 in Perry, GA to the late Harold and Betty Jean King Hackney; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Billy White Jr.

She is survived by her children, Michael and Cynthia Jones of Ellijay, GA, Jean Jones and Jacob Norris, Ken and Kyna White of Dalton, GA, Eddie and Wanda White of Rocky Face, GA, Billy White of Clearwater, GA and Cindy and Scott Byers of Chatsworth, GA; brothers, John Hackney Murfreesboro, TN and Ricky Powers of Perry, GA; sisters, Elaine and Norman Foster of Dalton, GA, Deborah Bennett of Perry, GA and Susan Dillion of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Michael Jones, Courtlin Jones, Caitlan Jones, Cadence Jones, Caleigh Jones, Savannah Hope Norris, Faith Marie Norris and Jacob Michael Norris; 24 great-grandchildren; special friends, Rita May Brandon and Valerie Petite; and her special companion, Blackie.

Memorial service for Mrs. Joan Marie White will be held Monday, Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8.

Ponders Melrose Chapel, Dalton, has charge of the arrangements.
