Southern Surgical Arts To Host 2nd Annual IgniteRed Event Friday

  • Friday, February 5, 2016

Southern Surgical Arts will be hosting the second annual IgniteRed event Friday, on National Wear Red Day, at 6 p.m. at 1405 Cowart St.

"Unfortunately, many heart disease victims’ first symptom could be death, particularly among women," officials said.

The event is a special invitation-only gathering to bring together many of the city’s female civic leaders, executives and philanthropists in order to educate, inform and collaborate on ideas to collectively affect the trend in this epidemic.

Hundreds of women wearing red dresses and heels will have a dinner of sushi, red wine
and dark chocolate.

"Many of these women have experienced heart disease and the majority of them know someone who has been affected by heart disease or stroke, whether it was their mother, sister or friend," organizers said.

Attendees will have the chance to receive information from the American Heart Association. Southern Surgical Arts’ surgeons will welcome the crowd at 6:45 p.m.

The event is following the declaration of National Wear Red day by Mayor Andy Berke
at the City Mayor’s office at 9 a.m.
